HUNTERS YORK AND DISTRICT SENIOR CRICKET LEAGUE
The team had a successful season with eight victories, seven defeats, four drawn and three abandoned, to finish fifth in the league.
The leading run scorer, who also headed the averages, was Sam Hills with 549 runs at an average of 32.29 with a top score of 89. The other main run scorers were Michael Hirst 457 runs (average 26.88), Tom Bruce 420 (23.33) and Ashish Kundi 341 (31.00).
Sam Hills had the ninth highest number of runs in the division and was twenty-first in the league batting averages.
The leading wicket taker was Nick Sumpton with thirty wickets at an average of 15.17 including 7-44 against Duncombe Park. He was the eighth highest wicket taker in the division, was fourth in the averages and had the sixth best return in the division. The Club averages were headed by Anthony Hunter with thirteen wickets at an average of 12.31. The other main wicket takers were Mathew Kay with 25 wickets (average 15.16) which placed him fifth in the division averages and Ashish Kundi 21 (14.00) including 5-42 against Hovingham which placed him second in the division averages.
Michael Hirst was the leading wicket keeper in the division with 23 dismissals (14 caught and 9 stumped).
Tom Bruce took eight catches and was the fourteenth best in the division.
The team was placed sixth in the overall league merit table, and again had the best facilities marks in the whole of the league.
